Abilene, Texas – August 9, 2007 – TeamTigé skier Jamie Beauchesne placed first at another pro slalom tournament for the 2007 waterski season. On Sunday August, 5th he took home first place at the 2007 Mastercraft Pro Slalom Shootout in Harmony, North Carolina. The event featured the top men’s and women’s slalom skiers battling for a $40,000 cash prize purse.
Sunday’s finals consisted of a head-to-head bracketed format. The top-eight scores in the respective divisions from Saturday were seeded 1 through 8, while the remaining top-eight cumulative scores were seeded 9 through 16.
Beauchesne, the No. 7 seed, defeated the 10th-seeded Marcus Brown, eighth-seeded Jody Fisher and sixth-seeded Chris Parrish before out-dueling Thomas Degasperi in the finale with a score of 3-1/2 buoys at 41 feet off to Degasperi’s 3 buoys at 41 feet off.
TeamTigé skier Chris Rossi also had an impressive showing at the event. He missed placing third by a mere 1/4th of a buoy.
